Nobody likes spam calls, especially when you’re trying to focus on work or handle something important, and then you get a call that seems important. But guess what? It’s just a spam call.

They’re often asking for donations, credit card details, or worse. Fortunately, there’s a way to block these annoying calls on your Android phone. Here’s your ultimate guide to blocking unwanted calls.

1. Register Your Number with NCPR

Registering your phone number with the National Customer Preference Register (NCPR) can help block telemarketing calls. This was previously known as the National Do Not Call Registry.

1. Open your SMS app.

2. Type “START” in all capital letters.

3. Send it to 1909.

4. You’ll receive a list of telemarketing service categories with codes.

5. Reply with the code you want to block.

6. You’ll get a confirmation message, and the DND service will be activated within 24 hours.

Note: This will not block important calls from banks or service providers, only unsolicited commercial calls.

Bonus: Use Your Phone App to Filter Unknown Calls

You can also use your phone app to filter unknown calls. Note that this can sometimes be a problem, like for couriers, deliveries, etc., but it’s worth considering if you get a lot of spam calls.

1. Open the Phone app and tap on the three dots at the top right.

2. Select Settings.

3. Tap on Caller ID and spam.

4. Turn on the toggle next to See caller and spam ID and Filter spam calls.

This will silence unknown calls without blocking them completely, meaning they won’t ring but you’ll still receive them. Also, if someone is constantly annoying you with spam calls, you can always block and report them.

That’s it for this guide. I hope it helps you block those annoying spam calls. If you have any further questions, let us know.
