TL; DR
  • Tata launched the 2026 Tiago facelift at Rs 4.69 lakh with sharper styling and more features.
  • The updated Tiago EV starts at Rs 6.99 lakh, down Rs 1 lakh from before.
  • Both cars get redesigned interiors, six airbags, 360-degree cameras, and dual wireless charging pads.

Tata Motors has had a busy day. The Indian automaker unveiled both the 2026 Tiago facelift and the updated Tiago EV on May 28, 2026, giving its entry-level hatchback lineup a complete and comprehensive refresh across petrol, CNG, and electric variants, all in one go, at one event and one media briefing.

Tata Motors has been selling the Tiago in India for over a decade. The ICE version has been available since the beginning, while the electric nameplate was added to the lineup in September 2022. Both cars have received a major facelift today, so without any further ado, let’s dive right into them.

2026 Tata Tiago ICE & CNG: Staring Price & Key Features

The Tiago petrol manual starts from ₹4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom), while the CNG version starts from ₹5.79 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Both the exteriors and the interiors of the car have been thoroughly revised. Up front, buyers now get sleeker, shaper headlamps, a slimmer grille positioned higher on the fascia, and a redesigned (cleaner) bumper with a larger air dam. Basically, Tiago has been given the Altroz treatment, and for all intents and purposes, it looks better to me.

While the rear gets connected tail lamps (on higher trims), the side profile includes 15-inch alloy wheels and black wheel arch cladding. Inside, the dashboard has been redesigned from scratch, and now comes with a flatter, more structured design with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a standalone digital driver’s display, dual wireless charging pads, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, and cruise control.

Keep in mind that some of the features are reserved for higher trims. There are no changes to the powertrain, though: 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine in 86hp petrol and 75.5hp CNG configurations, both offered with 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. The AMT variants now use a rotary gear selector. Safety equipment includes six airbags, ESC, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX anchor points.

2026 Tata Tiago EV: Staring Price & Key Features

The Tiago EV receives a front-end makeover, and a noticeable one no less, with sleek LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a body-coloured closed grille, revised bumpers, and new 15-inch wheels. The rear gets connected LED tail-lamps and an updated bumper.

The cabin has been substantially upgraded as well. There’s a redesigned dual-tone dashboard with a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen, a part-digital TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth support, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, auto-folding ORVMs, dual wireless charging pads, and a new front centre armrest.

Tata has also upgraded the car to support over 40 connected car functions. Safety takes a meaningful step forward: six airbags are now standard across the range, replacing the dual-airbag setup. You also get a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, ESP with traction control, hill hold, and torque vectoring by braking.

In terms of battery packs, you get two options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh (unchanged from the outgoing model). The 24kWh version produces 75hp with a claimed MIDC range of 285km, while the 19.2kWh unit makes 62hp and claims 226km. Charging is 40% faster than before, adding 100km of range in 18 minutes, with DC fast charging taking both packs from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.

The 24kWh version comes with a lifetime battery warranty for the first registered owner, which is a great addition. From the maximum claimed range, it is clear that the vehicles are designed for local commute and not long inter-city trips.
