Rumors about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC have been doing rounds on the internet for a while. The chipset has performed exceptionally well in early benchmark scores, fueling the hype around it. New information suggests Qualcomm might take a different route with the processor’s naming; the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 successor could be called Snapdragon 8 Elite. Xiaomi 15 Could Be The First Smartphone To Debut With Snapdragon 8 Elite

While other companies haven’t confirmed their flagships’ launch date, Xiaomi is all set to pull the curtains off the Xiaomi 15 series on October 23, 2024. And if there are no surprises from competitors, the Xiaomi 15 series could be the first to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
However, based on the last product cycle, the company might take between three to five months before it releases the Xiaomi 15 series in India. Regarding its specifications, the phone could come with a 6.7-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 50MP triple-rear camera, and a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging.
iQOO 13 Could Be The First Smartphone To Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite In India

Last year, iQOO 12 (review) was the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone to debut in India, which could also be the case this year. Featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the iQOO 13 could launch in India by the second week of December 2024. However, like other Chinese brands, even iQOO will unveil the handset in China around November.
Much like the OnePlus 13, the iQOO 13 will also come with a 6.78-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen, run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and feature a triple camera setup with an optical zoom lens. Interestingly, the iQOO 13 is also said to come with a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging.
Moving forward, expect this to be a trend in flagship smartphones from Chinese companies.

OnePlus 13 Is A Major Snapdragon 8 Elite Release As Well

Several resources suggest that the OnePlus 13 could be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone to debut globally. While OnePlus will release the smartphone in its native market later this month, it could arrive in India in another two to three months.
Talking about its specifications for a bit, the OnePlus could sport a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED, feature three 50MP sensors, draw its power from a 6,000 mAh battery (with support for 100W wired charging), and run on OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15.
Other Phones To Feature The Upcoming Qualcomm Chipset

The other two phones include the Honor Magic 7 series (which consists of four models) and the Realme GT 7 Pro. While the former is rumored to launch around October 30, 2024 (in China), the latter could debut in November 2024 (in China). Both the phones will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
