Simple to start its e-scooter production in India from January 19, 2023

Bangalore based Simple Energy will start operations at its Simple Vision 1.0 plant from 19th of January 2023. The operations will start with the production of the Simple One e-scooter. While the e-scooter was launched in August 2021, deliveries have been postponed various times. Recently, the deliveries were postponed from September CY22 to Q1 CY23.

The plant is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu and is spread across an area of 200,000 sq. ft. The plant claims a production capacity of 1,000,000 units and involves as investment of 100 crores. “We are officially moving from planning to execution, prototype to production and dreams to reality. The efforts are now taking shape into a larger vision, Simple Vision 1.0. With better engineering on Simple One and rigorous R&D, we expect to bring in best quality electric vehicles that will make the switch to green mobility faster and smoother. We look forward to embarking on the journey of production this January 2023,” Suhas Rajkumar, founder and CEO, Simple Energy said.

Simple Energy is also planning to expand its production to a plant in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu that will have a capacity of 1.25 lakh units per year.

Simple e-scooter: Features

The s-scooter from Simple One has a 4.5kW electric motor that is rated to have a 72Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 4,8kWh battery pack. The e-scooter is capable of giving a range of 236km on a single charge and a top speed of 105kmph. It rivals e-scooters like Ather 450X, Ola S1, Bajaj Chetak, and others.

Simple Energy has conducted test rides of its premium e-scooter in 12 Indian cities which include Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow and Bhubaneshwar.
