Sharp Technologies has launched what it claims to be the world’s first Air purifier that integrates a mosquito catcher. The new Sharp FP-FM40E combines patented Plasmacluster ion technology and a non-toxic mosquito-catching mechanism to purify your air and to protect against deadly vector-borne diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria, Yellow fever and Zika virus. The new Sharp Air purifier has a 5 step mechanism for catching mosquitoes and fruit flies. UV lights attract mosquitoes towards the array of narrow slits on side edges. Approaching mosquitoes are then sucked in and stick to a glue sheet. The Air Purifier uses negative ions to deactivate mold, viruses, bacteria and neutralizing VOCs and toxic gases. The HEPA filter can further capture 99.97% of suspended impurities like smoke, dust, and pollen (only 0.03 micron in size). The Air Purifier covers 300 sq feet area, which should be good enough for an average sized living room.
