The Korean tech giant Samsung is gearing up to launch the next-generation foldables in a couple of months. While we’ve already published 360-degree videos and high-quality renders of the Z Fold 6 and the Z Flip 6, new information keeps surfacing on the internet now and then, the latest of which comes from a renowned industry source and analyst.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 To Come In Six Colors And Two Storage Variants

According to the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 should come in various colors, six to be precise. These include Crafted Black, Peach, White, Yellow, Silver Shadow, Mint, and Light Blue. The first three will be available in limited quantities, suggesting they might be the exclusive online colors Samsung offers.

This seems to be a slight downgrade from the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which shipped in eight colors: four primary colors and four Samsung exclusive colors. Further, Samsung’s iconic finish, Lavender, seems to be missing from the list of Z Flip 6 colors.

Apart from the colors, the analyst also predicts the storage variants of the smartphone. According to Young, the flip-style foldable should be available in two configurations: one with 256GB of storage and the other with 512GB GB.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 To Come In Five Colors And Three Storage Variants

Young also predicts the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come in five finishes: White, Crafted Black, Light Pink, Silver Shadow, and Navy. Out of these, the first two should be available in limited quantities. Regarding Z Fold 6’s storage, the foldable should be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Samsung Seems To Be Testing A Slightly Toned-Down Version Of The Purported Z Flip 6

In a related development, Samsung might be testing a low-specced Galaxy Z Flip 6 version. According to a report by PhoneArena (which cites a Geekbench listing), Samsung tested a 12GB version of the Galaxy Z Flip with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Now, this could have several implications, the first of which is that the company could stick with the older chipset for the Z Flip 6. On the other hand, it could also mean that Samsung is testing the Galaxy Z Flip 6 SE, a slightly toned-down flagship version with a less powerful chipset. However, it wouldn’t make sense for the company to equip the Fan Edition with more RAM.

Hence, the most likely possibility is that Samsung could launch the regular Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Z Flip 6 SE in eight and 12GB RAM models. Nonetheless, since the speculation is based on early benchmark scores, we can’t say anything 100 percent surety. Stay tuned for more details about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Flip 6.

Update (April 25, 2024): According to a report by SamMobile, the Geekbench listing we saw earlier didn’t belong to a Galaxy Z Flip 6 variant. In fact, it belonged to a Galaxy S23 Ultra with a manipulated model number. From what it looks like, it was nothing more than a plot devised to attract some media attention, which it did.

Even though there have been rumors about Samsung working on FE editions of its flagship foldables, the Geekbench listing, for now, doesn’t add to the mill. Nonetheless, we should still expect to see several improvements from the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Z Fold 6, too.

We’re writing this report in April, which gives us about three months to wait and see if there are any solid rumors about the foldables’ FE versions. One thing is clear, those who couldn’t get their hands on the Z Flip 5 and the Z Fold 5 due to their price will surely try to grab the FE editions (which are generally more affordable)
