Apple’s Vision Pro is scheduled to arrive in early 2024. The mixed-reality headset announced earlier this year is one of the best in the industry. It features a dual-chip design, several cameras, and other sensors that facilitate the digital overlay above users’ surroundings. Now, a newsletter suggests that the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to launch the device across its store.

Buyers Would Have To Schedule Store Appointments To Get Their Hands On Vision Pro

Back in October, Gurman reported how Vision Pro won’t be available in stores like any other Apple device. Usually, customers just walk into the stores, try out the device they wish to purchase, and walk out with it. However, that won’t be the case with Vision Pro, one of the company’s most significant breakthrough products in recent times. Gurman also mentioned how the company would invite a few employees from its store to train them about using and selling the Vision Pro.

Apple Is Flying In Employees From Different Stores To Train Them

In his latest newsletter, Gurman mentions that the Vision Pro training seminars are “getting scheduled now,” with training set to begin mid-January. Since the Vision Pro setup process is complex, each employee will be trained for two days, following which they would fly back to their store and teach the other staff members.

“Every step will be carefully orchestrated, including how retail employees approach a customer and how they place the device on a user’s head,” adds Gurman. While customers should be able to reserve the mixed reality headset online, they might have to visit their nearest Apple store to pick one up. Apple retail stores will soon get “new equipment to assemble and box up the headset.”

The Mixed Reality Headset Should Be Available At Stores In March 2024

Initially, Apple mentioned that the Vision Pro will roll out in early 2024. However, given the scheduled training, it looks like the device should be available with full zeal by March 2024. In previous reports, Gurman has also mentioned how using Vision Pro entails a steep learning curve, and customers need to schedule appointments at the store so that an executive can guide them through the process.

It is noteworthy that Vision Pro will first be available in the United States. Until now, the company hasn’t confirmed or denied the Indian launch. Given that it is a $3,499 device, which could cost well over Rs. 3,00,000 in India, the company might likely delay the launch and release the more affordable version currently in its pipeline. However, this remains a speculation, as we have yet to hear from the company.
