Samsung’s Galaxy AI is making its way to the mid-range Galaxy A35 and A55 soon. Initially introduced with the Galaxy S24 series and improved with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6, Galaxy AI’s reach is expanding. According to SamMobile, these AI features are expected to debut on the Galaxy A35 and A55 with the upcoming OneUI 6.1.1 update.

Limited AI features

The Galaxy A35 and A55, Samsung’s 2024 mid-range devices, are powered by the Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1480 SoCs, respectively. These are not the most powerful SoCs that you can buy hence running on-device AI would be difficult.

As a result, it’s important to note that not all Galaxy AI features will be available on these devices. The update will likely include cloud-based AI features, but advanced on-device features like Live Translate, Interpreter, and Instant Slow-Mo might be absent.

The cheapest device currently with Galaxy AI, the Galaxy S23 FE, also misses out on some features like Instant Slow-Mo. Therefore, it only makes sense to assume that the A35 and A55 could face similar or even more limitations due to their mid-range status.

No AI for older models

Interestingly, there’s no word on whether older models like the Galaxy A34 and A54 will get these AI features, even though the A54 shares the same Exynos 1380 chipset as the A35. Given Samsung’s history, they might restrict the new AI features to its 2024 models.

As for other devices, such as the more affordable Galaxy A25, the M series or the F series, there’s no confirmation if they will receive Galaxy AI features.

Samsung is investing a lot on AI and bringing these features to mid-range devices only makes sense. What are your thoughts? Do you have a Galaxy A35 or A55 that you are waiting to try Galaxy AI on? Let us know in the comments section below.
