The deal also includes other respected names in the audio space including Boston Acoustics, Classé, Definitive Technology, HEOS, and Marantz. These brands will join Harman’s existing portfolio, which already boasts names like JBL, Harman Kardon, Arcam, AKG, Mark Levinson, and Revel. Samsung had previously acquired Harman International in 2016 for a hefty $8 billion.

Samsung stated its ambition to “solidify its global No. 1 position in the consumer audio market” by combining these new assets with Harman’s existing strengths. The company plans to integrate the advanced audio technology from brands like Bowers & Wilkins and Denon into its own lineup of smartphones, TVs, and wireless earphones. Furthermore, Samsung aims to enhance its car audio business with these newly acquired premium brands.
