On April 17, 2024, Samsung India conducted the Unbox & Discover launch event in Bengaluru. At the event, the company announced a lineup of AI TVs. These included the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and OLED TVs. However, the Neo QLED 8K carries the most exciting features, powered by AI.

Samsung Neo QLED 8K Enriched With A Host Of AI Features

Out of the three lineups launched today, the Neo QLED 8K benefits the most from AI features. It houses the new NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor, which comes with a Neural Processing Unit that delivers twice the speed of its predecessor. Further, it features an eight-fold increase in neural networks from 64 to 512. Keeping the technical details aside, here are the new AI features coming to the Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs.

  • AI Picture Technology and AI Upscaling Pro help bring out the finest details in a scene with clarity and transform content to match the native 8K resolution.
  • AI Motion Enhancer Pro leverages a motion detection algorithm to enhance clarity during motion-intense content, such as sports and action movies. For instance, during cricket matches, the technology helps track the ball without distortion.
  • AI Sound Technology helps deliver precise audio with Active Voice Amplifier Pro, automatically detecting background noises and adjusting volume. Further, Object Tracking Sound Pro enhances the audio experience by syncing the sound with the on-screen action, creating a dynamic and engaging viewing experience.

Other AI-based features include an Auto Game ModeCustomization Mode, and customizable Energy Mode. While the Auto Game Mode recognizes the game (and the genre it belongs to) and tailors the picture quality, the Customization Mode adjusts the picture for each scene. Last but not least, the AI Energy Mode reduces power consumption.

For those catching up, Samsung recently released similar features for its lineup of smart home appliances. Mostly, the features revolve around enabling some degree of customization based on the type of content on the screen or the user’s preference. However, the difference between this and other lineups is that the processor can make the changes without troubling the users.

The Samsung Neo QLED 8K is available in two models, QN900D and QN800D, in sizes of 65, 75, and 85 inches.

Samsung Also Announced The Neo QLED 4K And World’s First Glare-Free OLED

The Neo QLED 4K

The new Samsung Neo QLED 4K features the NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, which enables features like upscaling, Real Depth Enhancer Pro, and Quantum Matrix Technology. This particular model also comes with a Pantone Validate display for color accuracy and Dolby Atmos for an immersive experience. Users can purchase the Neo OLED 4K in two models, QN85D and QN90D, in sizes 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98 inches.

On the other hand, the Korean tech giant has also revealed the world’s first glare-free OLED TV, eliminating annoying reflections while preserving deep blacks and clear images. This model is powered by the same NQ4 AI Gen 2 Processor as the QLED 4K, enabling features like Real Depth Enhancer and OLED HDR Pro. The smart TV supports a 144Hz refresh rate and comes in two models, S95D and S90D, in sizes of 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches.
