Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai-based retailer and trusted source for smartphone leaks, has revealed that Samsung will soon introduce its Galaxy J7 Prime in India at 18,790 INR. The pricing is definitely aggressive, even more so because it will be selling at offline stores as well.

From where we stand, launching its first fingerprint sensor-laden phone for under 20K is a smart move from the South Korean giant and could help it capture a significant chunk of 15k-20K price segment, which hasn’t seen many exciting launches in the recent past.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime improves upon the existing Galaxy J7 2016 in many ways.

This time, you get a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 2.5D glass, and the fingerprint reader as mentioned above is clubbed with the Home button placed right below the screen. The chipset remains THE same 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core, but the RAM capacity has been increased to 3GB.

Besides, the Galaxy J7 Prime also brings a few significant design refinements. With J7 Prime, Samsung brings Metal unibody design to the J series. There is no camera hump on the rear, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the loudspeaker has perhaps shifted to the bottom edge where it makes so much more sense.

Update: The loudspeaker is reportedly placed on the right edge.

Other features include 13MP f/1.9 aperture rear camera, 8MP f/1.9 aperture front camera, Android Marshmallow based OS, Dual SIM 4G VoLTE, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and a 3300mAh battery

Update: The Galaxy J7 Prime has already started retailing at online retail stores.
