Update: Samsung has officially launched Samsung J7 Duo in India. We have made relevant changes to the story.

Samsung’s next J-series phone, J7 Duo, has been listed on Samsung India store with a coming soon tag. The listing, which was first spotted by Indian leakster, Ishan Agarwal, detail partial specs and official images of the Galaxy J7 Duo.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo Features

The new Samsung phone seems to have a regular 16:9 screen with broad bezels at the top and bottom. At least the chin isn’t a complete waste as this is where Samsung places the fingerprint sensor. The handset measures 153.5 x 77.2 x 8.2 mm and weighs 174 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo will have a 5.5-inch HD resolution Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor (most probably Exynos 7870 from last year which is ubiquitous across J-series phones). The SoC is paired with 4GB RAM and only 32GB of inbuilt storage.

For photography, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo will have a 13MP rear camera paired with a 5MP secondary sensor, each with f/1.9 aperture lens. The extra shooter is most likely there for depth sensing to empower the portrait mode or Live Focus as Samsung puts it. The 8MP front camera sensor will take care of selfies on the front.

The software running on the handset is Android 8.0 Oreo-based Experience UI. Samsung has further added features like Face Unlock, Beauty mode for selfies, and App pair (pre-defined App couplets that split screen and run simultaneously)

Other features include 3000mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, 3.5mm audio jack and 4G VoLTE support.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo Price in India

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo has been priced at Rs. 16,999 in India. The phone certainly feels overpriced considering what it brings to the table.
