While it might not have competitive hardware or pricing, the Galaxy J2 is one of the best selling J-series phones for Samsung that serves as a low-cost alternative for brand conscious buyers particularly keen on buying from offline retail stores.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is now official and has already hit the offline retail shelves, right in time for the festival sales.

Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) Specifications and Features

Surprisingly, Samsung has used a Super AMOLED panel on this entry-grade handset, but before you get too excited, the display resolution is quarter HD (960 x 540), which though isn’t great but should be passable in a compact 4.7-inch screen size for first-time buyers.

On the inside, the handset is powered by 1.3GHz Exynos processor paired with paltry 1GB RAM and 8GB storage (of which only 4.3GB is accessible to end users). Samsung’s software enhancements like UDS and Smart Manager for automatic memory recovery should soften the blow but there isn’t much they can do with such limited resources.

Photography gear is equally basic. You get a 5MP rear snapper and a 2MP selfie shooter on the front. Within its 8.4mm thick plastic body, the handset houses a humble 2000mAh capacity battery.

Other Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and 3.5mm audio jack.
