Alongside the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Buds+ at its upcoming Unpacked event. So far, we have seen a few renders and rumors about its key improvements over the OG (review). Well, if you were wondering the spec difference from the first-gen, here’s a leaked spec sheet comparing both models.

Let’s talk some numbers, shall we?
The outright difference is going to be in the battery department. This is something which is whirling in the rumor mill for the better part of a month now. The Galaxy Buds Plus is rumored to bear a beefier battery, 85mAh to be exact. The case also carries more juice viz. 272mAh. This is said to translate 11 hours of music playback out of earbuds, whilst the case and buds in tandem suggest 22 hours of longevity. As for talk-time, the earbuds will eke out 7.5 hours and 15 hours in total (case and buds). If true, that’ll be an impressive feat.

Not just that, the fast charging capability seems to have upped the speed as the Galaxy Buds+ is shown to top up 60 min playtime in a mere 3 minutes. Huh!
Wireless charging isn’t going anywhere.
Another major update seems to be the Multi-device connectivity. Further, the built-in speaker also gets 2-way dynamic delivery. Similarly, there will be 2 mics on the exterior and 1 inside. Two mics could be used for aiding noise-cancellation. But, there have been reports claiming missing Noise-cancellation. So, there’s that. If not that then, the added mics could facilitate better call quality by prioritizing your voice from the ambient noise.
The precursor suffered from the environment noises during calls. Let’s hope Samsung has worked on this.
Design-wise the new one doesn’t seem to have gone far from the archetype. In the leaked renders, the buds, as well as the case, looks the same, save for two buttons within the case. There appears to be a set of physical buttons inside of the case, which could turn out to be an earbud locator.
But it’s all hearsay and speculations for now.

As aforementioned, the Buds+ is likely to tag along with the Galaxy S20 lineup. The Unpacked event is right around the block. A leaked promotional poster tells us that the Galaxy Buds+ could be bundled free with Galaxy S20+/Ultra pre-orders.
