Samsung perceptively didn’t participate in the rat race to roll out the first set of 5G phones in India, but now that the 5G scene is finally going somewhere, the company is quickly implanting 5G ready devices in its arsenal.

The recently launched Galaxy M42 was the first 5G phone from the brand in India, and according to a new report by SamMobile, Samsung is now gearing to launch a 5G variant of the Galaxy A52(review) in the country.

The Galaxy A52 5G will be powered by Snapdragon 750G octa-core chipset, the Same SoC that also powers Samsung’s Galaxy M42 and Xiaomi’s Mi 10i 5G

What really made the Galaxy A52 appealing was its price. The handset starts at INR 26,499 in India and offers attractive features like IP rating, a distinct design, and a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display.

The 5G variant is likely to increase the price by around 5K and the 5G variant should land somewhere in the wide gap between the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72

In related news, DoT has now approved 5G trials in India for Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, and MTNL. Samsung is among the telecom gear vendors approved to deliver 5G equipment to these telecoms. Chinese equipment makers like Huawei will not be a part of the 5G trial.
