TL;DR
- According to a report by the Dutch publication GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A36 will feature a 50MP primary camera.
- Interestingly, the publication also mentions that the 12MP front camera on the Galaxy A36 will be different than the one used on the Galaxy A56.
- Most recently, leaked images of the Galaxy A36 also surfaced on the internet. The smartphone may launch in March 2025.
Earlier this year, the Korean tech giant Samsung launched the Galaxy A35, a mid-ranger that provides a near-flagship experience with One UI and capable hardware. As 2025 closes by, details about the handset’s successor, Galaxy A36, have started to surface on the internet. In this article, we’ve compiled all the information that’s available about the smartphone.

Galaxy A36 Could Feature A New 12MP Front Camera
According to a report by the Dutch publication GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A36 will feature a 50MP primary camera. However, this isn’t a major breakthrough for the series, as the Galaxy A35 (review) also came with a similar camera.
The front camera on the upcoming smartphone could be a 12MP sensor instead of the 13MP sensor on its predecessor. Even though this appears to be a downgrade, GalaxyClub has reasons to believe that it will be better than the slightly higher-resolution camera.
Other Cameras On Galaxy A36 Could Remain The Same As Galaxy A35
Interestingly, the publication also mentions that the 12MP front camera on the Galaxy A36 will be different than the one used on the Galaxy A56. Usually, there’s a significant price difference between these smartphones, and hence, there’s a good chance that the Galaxy A56 will feature a slightly better front camera.
Last but not least, the publication believes that the other two cameras on the Galaxy A36, i.e., the ultrawide and the macro shooter, will remain the same as the ones on the Galaxy A35. This is the extent of information that has come to light in the latest report.
Galaxy A36 5G Could Feature A Unique Camera Module Design
Most recently, leaked images of the Galaxy A36 also surfaced on the internet, courtesy of GizNext and Onleaks. The images suggest that Galaxy A36 will feature a new camera module containing all the sensors in a vertical, blacked-out cutout. If the camera module looks familiar, that is because it resembles the one on the six-year-old Galaxy A7.
The Galaxy A35, in comparison, doesn’t feature a camera module at all. Instead, the current-generation A-series smartphone has individual lenses that protrude from the rear panel. On the front, the Galaxy A36 features symmetrical bezels on all sides except the slightly thicker bezel. Further, the phone has a punch-hole camera.
Galaxy A36 5G Will Run On A Snapdragon Processor
Besides appearance, we know a few things about the Galaxy A36’s performance, thanks to a Geekbench listing. Although the listing doesn’t reveal the name of the processor, it indicates that the smartphone will feature a Qualcomm processor. The performance scores, however, suggest that it could either be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 or the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Further, the phone is said to offer up to six years of OS updates.
Regarding the phone’s launch timeline, it can break cover sometime in March 2025, a few months after the Galaxy S25 series comes out in January 2025.
