iPhones are no less than rocket science when it comes to their creation. A lot of elements come into play at the time when iPhones are being produced. That said, different parts of an iPhone are released by different brands online. As for the displays, Samsung Display has served as one of the most prominent suppliers of the OLED displays of the iPhone ever since Apple transitioned to OLED screens instead of regular ones. A recent study by TheElecsuggested that Samsung could supply around 70% of the OLED display for the iPhone 14 series.

Reports suggest that Apple has ordered more than 120 million OLED panels for the iPhone 14 series this year. Out of the whole lot of 120 million panels, Samsung is supposed to provide approximately 80 million OLED panels. The other display suppliers of Apple, like BOE and LG, will provide 6 million and 20 million units.

A deep insight into Samsung Display’s role in Apple iPhone

Samsung has a decent advantage over other suppliers like BOE and LG. The main reason being LG only offers an LTPS display for the iPhone 14 base variant and an LTPO display for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Talking of BOE, it provides display panels for every iPhone in the series. Samsung display outclasses other competitors in terms of versatility.

As per TheElec, around 60 million of the 80 million prescribed display units delivered by Samsung will be used in the high-end iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max models. Samsung also got all the attention from Apple as the primary display supplier for the iPhones because of the production issues going on in LG display. This gave a clear chance to Samsung to fulfill the void created due to the same and maintain dominance in the iPhone screen segment.
