Samsung developed a Generative AI model – Samsung Gauss

Samsung announced its own generative AI model called Samsung Gauss that will be available both via cloud and on-device processing. Samsung Gauss is bifurcated into three sections – Samsung Gauss Language, Code, and Image, each capable of executing AI tasks including creating multimedia, translating languages, helping developers write codes, etc.

Samsung Gauss Language as a model understands human language. It uses inputs to generate answers with tasks such as composing emails, editing, summarising documents, translating languages, writing, and so on. It can perform smart device control similar to Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

Samsung Gauss Code is a model that acts as a coding assistant. It can write codes easily and quickly along with test case generation and code descriptions. It has the potential for quick software development. Finally, Samsung Gauss is the model that can create and manipulate images, and convert low-res images to high-res and beyond. It can add things to the images using a small text description or prompt much like DALL-E.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to get on-device AI processing that can protect private data. Earlier reports suggest Samsung could be setting up a subscription service to use generative AI on the Galaxy S24 series which may not be available free such as ChatGPT. We will confirm the same sooner though.
