The last title in the franchise, Resident Evil 4 Remake, garnered significant success, with Capcom selling millions of copies. The developers have high hopes for the upcoming title given how well the title did.

Resident Evil 9 To Be Based On A Singapore-Inspired Island

According to a GameRant report, Resident Evil 9 will be based in a Singapore-inspired island. The video game will take place in an open-world format, a first for the series. The report cites known Capcom leaker AestheticGamer, who says the upcoming game occurs “in a fictional rural town on an island in the Southeast Asia Sea.”

Further, the report mentions that Capcom has been working on the title for nearly seven years. What makes this report reliable is the leakster’s excellent track record.
