Barely two months into its India innings, the Redmi Turbo 5 is already a lot more expensive than the phone you could’ve bought back in June. Xiaomi has quietly revised prices across both configurations, and the higher-RAM variant has taken the bigger hit.
Old price vs. new price
The Redmi Turbo 5 launched on June 19 with two configurations: 8GB + 256GB at ₹37,999 and 12GB + 256GB at ₹40,999. On Amazon today, the 8GB + 256GB variant lists at ₹41,999, a ₹4,000 increase over its launch price. The 12GB + 256GB variant has moved up even more sharply, now selling at ₹46,999 (against an M.R.P. of ₹57,999), which works out to a ₹6,000 jump from its original ₹40,999 sticker price.

What makes this sting a bit more is that the Turbo 5’s own sibling hasn’t budged. The POCO X8 Pro, which is essentially a rebadged Turbo 5 running the same Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, is still listed at ₹36,999, comfortably under the Turbo 5’s revised price. And if you catch it during the ongoing Flipkart sale, it drops further to ₹32,999, undercutting the base Turbo 5 variant by nearly ₹9,000 right now. For a phone that’s spec-for-spec nearly identical, that’s a tough comparison for Xiaomi to explain away.
Why the hike, probably
Xiaomi hasn’t put out an official statement explaining the increase, but the timing lines up with the broader memory and storage price crunch that’s been squeezing RAM and UFS component costs industry-wide through 2026. Several brands in the mid-range segment have quietly adjusted prices over the past few months for similar reasons, so this isn’t happening in isolation.
A ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 hike so soon after launch isn’t going to sit well with anyone who was eyeing the Turbo 5 for its price-to-performance pitch, especially with the 12GB variant taking the harder hit and its own twin, the POCO X8 Pro, sitting right there at a noticeably lower price.
