Xiaomi’s next big Note, the Redmi Note 8 Pro will launch in India on October 16. The Redmi Note 8 Pro – which was introduced in China about a fortnight ago – has quad-cameras and is powered by MediaTek’s latest Helio G90T chipset that is deemed to be at par with Snapdragon 730 when it comes to raw performance power.

The news was first reported by tech blog Sharmaji Infinity, which also claims that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be accompanied by Redmi Note 8, the other quad-camera phone in the series.

Also, the reported launch date lies within the bounds of the “approx 8 weeks” timeline that Xiaomi Global VP Manu Kumar Jain confirmed on his twitter handle soon after the China launch.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro Features

Since the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 have already been officially unveiled in China, we have a good idea of what’s coming. It must be mentioned that Xiaomi has a track record of tweaking specs (and even design) for Notes in India, so we are not completely ruling out a few changes for the Indian variants.

The 64MP quad-camera is sure to make the cut, though. Xiaomi and Realme have been racing to introduce the high-resolution Samsung GW1 sensor to their consumers and it’s quite likely that we get to hear something related to the official confirmation of Redmi Note 8-series India launch on the September 13 – the same day when Realme XT is coming to India.

Meanwhile, here are the specs for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 in China.
