Putting rest to various speculations circulating on the Internet, Redmi has officially confirmed to launch the Redmi K40 series in China on February 25.

Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager, confirmed on a Chinese microblogging site that Redmi K40 will make its entry with a new design, offering a brand new experience. This one is a successor to Redmi K30 and is likely to possess a high-end processor, big battery, and 5G capability.

Redmi K40 Expected Features

Redmi K40 is expected to feature an FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and the most expensive LCD panel for a phone. The display will come with the smallest punch hole in any smartphone ever to house a selfie camera, claims Weibing. The K40 series could offer quad rear cameras and a few leaks suggest a 108MP primary sensor.

Lu Weibing had earlier confirmed Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 5G-enabled chipset in the Redmi K40. It is said to be assisted by LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The device is expected to run on MIUI 12.5 skin topped on Android 11.

Redmi K40 could pack a 4500mAh or higher capacity battery. The device is said to support 33W fast charging via a Type-C port. Rumors also suggest that the company could ditch the phone’s charger from the retail box.
