realme has taken the lead in the fast-charging race, introducing its new 320W SuperSonic charge technology. This new innovation beats the current fastest, Redmi’s 300W, and takes the crown for the fastest charging in the world.
realme’s 320W charging can fully charge a 4,000 mAh battery in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds, breaking Redmi’s record of 4 minutes and 55 seconds. Let’s see how realme has managed to achieve this insane speed.
320W SuperSonic charging speeds
In terms of speed, the 320W technology can charge a device to 26% in just 1 minute and to 50% in under 2 minutes—truly mind-blowing figures. A full charge takes 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
For comparison, realme’s earlier 240W charging technology took around 10 minutes to charge a 4,600 mAh battery. Even Redmi’s 300W solution, which was the previous record holder, took 4 minutes and 55 seconds for the same 4,000 mAh battery.
How does it work?
realme’s 320W SuperSonic charge uses a quad-cell battery which is a major upgrade from the previously common dual-cell designs. This setup includes four 1,000 mAh cells that combine to create a 4,000 mAh battery.
The quad-cell structure is supposed to enhance the energy density and efficiency. This allows for ultra-fast charging without overheating the smartphone.
Further, each cell is less than 3 mm thick. This design allows for a 10% increase in battery capacity without compromising size. The battery is more compact and efficient.

AirGap Voltage Transformer
One of the standout features of this new tech is the use of an AirGap Voltage Transformer, which uses contact-free electromagnetic conductors for efficient power delivery to the smartphone’s battery.
Not just this, realme has also implemented a high voltage conversion system to maintain a low voltage during charging for an impressive efficiency rate of about 98%.
Safety and longevity
realme hasn’t just focused on speed; the AirGap Voltage Transformer and advanced algorithms manage temperature and current. This will ensure that the impact of such high charging speeds on the battery life is minimal.
While realme hasn’t put out a word on the 320W fast charging’s effect on the battery, it claims that, its current devices like the realme GT 6, can retain over 80% of their battery capacity, even after 1,600 full charge cycles, that is.
As of now, we can only wait and watch to see how this revolutionary technology will be integrated into upcoming realme devices and what impact it will have on the market.

realme Pocket Cannon Charger
The charger used to deliver the 320W charging is the realme Pocket Cannon charger. It’s a dual USB-C port charger that’s the same size as the company’s 240W charger. It plays a crucial role in achieving the high speeds of the 320W charging technology.
The charger is very compact and it can deliver 3.3W/cm³. realme says that the 320W Pocket Cannon can charge a realme device at 150W and a laptop at 65W simultaneously.
The future of fast charging
Although realme’s 320W SuperSonic charge is groundbreaking, it’s still in the showcase phase and not yet available commercially. If realme incorporates this technology into future devices like the realme GT 7 series, it could set new standards for fast charging.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how this technology will perform in real-world usage and whether it will face any long-term durability challenges.
