The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme is preparing to launch a new smartphone with a periscope zoom lens. Teasing the phone’s camera cutout, the company writes, “This light will shine on Realme.” The teaser image also showcases a triple-rear camera setup. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming smartphone, including its camera, screen, and processor details.
Realme Teases A Smartphone With Periscope Lens
On September 21, 2023, Realme Global posted an image on the microblogging platform X (previously known as Twitter). The image contains an outline of what looks like a circular camera housing with three sensors, two of which are round, while the one (highlighted in the picture) is rectangular. For those catching up, the periscope zoom lenses are rectangular in shape.
In the image, Realme says that “not only max can zoom,” which references the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max and its advanced 5x optical zoom camera. Hence, it looks like the image is teasing an upcoming smartphone. Although the company didn’t reveal the smartphone’s name, it is speculated that it could be a Realme GT 5 Pro.
Realme GT 5 Pro Leaked Specifications
Previously, we’ve heard some rumors about the smartphone, including that it could come with a 2K display, run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and 24GB of RAM. Further, the smartphone could feature a Sony IMX9 1/1.4x primary sensor (with OIS) and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope lens for three times optical zoom.
Since the smartphone will be an addition to the Realme GT 5 series, it could also come in multiple charging variants. The Realme GT 5 currently offers 240W of ultra-fast wired charging with a 4,600 mAh battery and 150W fast wired charging with a 5,240 mAh battery. More information about the purported Realme GT 5 Pro should surface online in the coming days.
