PUBG Mobile Lite is now available in India, Here is everything you need to know

Last year, in the month of August, we saw the debut of PUBG Mobile lite edition in the Philippines. Now, about a year later, Tencent Games has officially launched the game in India. As evident from the name, this is a light-weight variant of PUBG or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. So, how’s it different from the original game? Here’s everything you need to know.

PUBG Mobile Lite: Minimum System Requirements

You may already know that it is targeted for the low-end phones with less RAM and storage. It should work on phones with less than 2GB of RAM. Further, it is designed to work in areas with weak internet connectivity.

The game supports phones running on Android version 4.0.3 or up.

Coming to the size of the game, PUBG Mobile Lite has a download size of around 400 MB only, as per Tencent Games. However, from our experience, it might differ from device to device as ours touched 491 MB. Still, the Lite variant is way smaller compared to the Original PUBG’s size, which reaches upto 2GB.

PUBG Mobile Lite vs PUBG Mobile differences

Besides the aforementioned spec differences, here are the areas where Lite deviates from the original.

If you’re playing PUBG Lite version, you won’t be allowed to match with an original PUBG Mobile player. This is understandable as the ones playing Lite variant will be more often than not handicapped by low system resources.

You can play solo, duo, and squad matches in both the classic and arcade/War mode. You get to play in Third-Party Perspective (TPP) only. Unfortunately, there’s no option to play in First-Person Perspective (FPP).

There’s a single map available as of when we are writing this article. In the battle royale, a maximum of 60 players is released onto a 2 x 2 map named Erangel. The Map is small and thus the game will be quick to finish in about 10 minutes or so.

As for the gameplay, there isn’t any difference. You look for similar weapons, ammo or medicine while fighting and surviving the other 59 players to be the last man standing. Even the attachments and all other perks remain the same as the original game.

Tencent claims to have improved the aim assist for users to take down enemies easily. It also includes better bullet mechanics, snappier bullet speeds, no bullet drop effect, suppressed weapon recoil, and an extended time to kill enemies.

PUBG Mobile Lite also features a new weapon in select game modes, providing you ways to strategize new attack and defense tactics

Now you can heal yourself while moving. Yes! This will increase your chance of survivability without hitting the game speed.

The Map quality, as well as the parachute loading screen, have been optimized. To compensate for a small map size, PUBG Mobile Lite has denser buildings and increased loot frequency.

You also get to see the shooters’ location in the map, which might come handy during extraction and speed up the overall battle progress.

Further, there is an upgrade to the Royale Pass called Winner Pass and unlocking newer perks have been made simpler. It should extend for a month and boasts faster achievement unlocks and exciting rewards in this duration.
