OPPO is gearing up for the release of its Reno 10 Pro series in India and other global markets. The lineup consists of three phones: Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. While the phones have already been launched in China, the global variants are expected to come with certain modifications. OPPO has now provided insights into the camera specifications and features of the Reno 10 Pro+.

OPPO’s Focus on Reno 10 Pro+ Camera In a recent press release, OPPO highlighted the camera capabilities of the Reno 10 Pro+, particularly emphasizing its periscope telephoto design. The phone boasts a 64MP telephoto camera, which is claimed to be the industry’s highest megapixel count for a telephoto camera. With a 1/2-inch image sensor, users can enjoy 3x optical zoom with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 120x hybrid zoom.

One notable aspect mentioned by OPPO is the reduced thickness of the periscope camera module on the Reno 10 Pro+. Compared to other devices, the lens stack is 0.96mm thinner, avoiding the common issue of a protruding camera bump. The stacked lens and sensor are positioned sideways within the phone, as highlighted in the press release.

OPPO also shared camera samples taken with the telephoto lens and 3x optical zoom. According to OPPO, in outdoor scenarios, “The telephoto lens compresses the gap between the portrait subject and distant elements in a scene—monuments, buildings, and mountains—to create dramatic but well-composed portraits.”

Evaluation Pending It’s important to note that the camera samples were provided by OPPO, making it difficult to judge the actual performance of the Reno 10 Pro+’s camera. A comprehensive assessment will be included in our upcoming review, where we will provide a detailed experience of its camera capabilities.

Triple Camera Setup The rear panel of the Reno 10 Pro+ and Reno 10 Pro houses a triple camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor featuring the Sony IMX890 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, as well as an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/4-inch sensor. For selfies, the phones are equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with autofocus.

The camera setup is identical on both the Reno 10 Pro+ and Reno 10 Pro. While the Reno 10 Pro features a telephoto lens as well, the specific megapixel count has not yet been disclosed. In the Chinese market, the Reno 10 Pro boasts a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
