On July 19, we published a post about Oppo’s teaser on Flipkart, hinting toward the launch of the K12X 5G handset in India. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has officially confirmed the smartphone, revealing the launch date along with some key features. The latest addition to Oppo’s K Series, K12X 5G, will come as a rugged smartphone that focuses on durability. Without any further ado, let’s dive into all the information we have.

Oppo K12X 5G Release Date
The Oppo K12X 5G will go official in India on July 29, 2024. While details about the pricing or the introductory offers aren’t available yet, we expect the handset to cost around Rs. 20,000 in India. Further, the handset should be available in at least two configurations with up to 256GB of storage. Since we spotted its teaser on Flipkart, we speculate that the Oppo K12X 5G will be exclusively available on the e-commerce platform. That said, let’s discuss the key specifications and features of the smartphone.
Oppo K12X 5G Design And Durability
The Oppo K12X 5G carries a rather subtle and contemporary design. On the front, users get a punch-hole display with almost symmetrical bezels on all sides. The rear panel houses a vertical pill-shaped camera module that contains two sensors and a circular LED flash. Per the press release, the phone will be available in two colors: Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet. However, it’s the phone’s durability that gives it an edge over other models in the segment.
For instance, the Oppo K12X 5G features a 360-degree Damage-Proof Armor Body, which uses a drop-resistance material that cushions the impact and prevents any damage to the internal components. The screen is protected by twice-reinforced Panda Glass. In addition, the K12X 5G also features a MIL-STD-810H certification, implying that the phone has been tested to perform well in harsh environmental conditions, such as extreme heat, moisture, etc.

The phone also comes with an official IP54 dust and splash resistance. A feature called Splash Touch also allows users to use the handset’s screen even with wet hands or when there’s moisture on the screen. Buyers also get an Air Cushion Armor Case with corner cushioning and a re-inforced back to provide additional protection. However, with the military-grade material and design, buyers should be able to use the phone without the case.
The Oppo K12X 5G weighs 186 grams and measures 7.68mm in thickness. Other details include a 6.67-inch HD+ screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. Oppo has also provided an L1 Widewine certification so that users can stream their favorite shows or movies in HD. Other touted features include Oppo’s AI Linkboost technology for stable signal strength, a Dual Video feature that lets users record videos simultaneously from the front and the rear camera, and a 5,100 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging.
