TL; DR
- Digital Chat Station claims both OPPO and vivo are developing standalone creator-focused pocket cameras.
- Both devices are reportedly being tested with a 200MP 1/1.12-inch Sony LYTIA 901 sensor and flagship-grade chipsets.
- Hasselblad branding for OPPO and Zeiss branding for vivo are also being considered.
The smartphone industry may be preparing its next move beyond phones. According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, both OPPO and vivo are working on dedicated vlogging cameras aimed at creators who want more than what a smartphone can offer.
The leak claims both companies are testing a 200MP camera built around Sony’s 1/1.12-inch LYTIA 901 sensor. That’s the same sensor size found in their Ultra smartphones and significantly larger than what many compact creator cameras use today. Both products are also said to feature flagship-level chipsets, though the exact processors remain unknown.

OPPO could reportedly extend its Hasselblad partnership to the camera, while vivo may do the same with Zeiss. Both brands have spent years building their flagship camera systems around those collaborations, making a dedicated camera a natural next step.

Another focus appears to be ecosystem integration. The cameras are expected to work closely with OPPO and vivo smartphones, allowing creators to transfer, edit, and share content directly from their phones.
The timing is interesting. DJI recently expanded its lineup with the Osmo Pocket 4 and upcoming Pocket 4P, while Insta360 is preparing the Luna. What was once a niche category is quickly turning into a competitive market, and smartphone brands now seem interested in claiming a share of it as well.
