The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is about to launch a red color variant of the OnePlus 11R in India. Recently, the brand launched a Genshin Impact special edition OnePlus Ace 2 in its native market, with a vegan leather back panel. Although the same variant might not be available in India, there’s a good chance that OnePlus will relaunch the smartphone in a new red finish.

OnePlus Teases The “Red Rush”

On October 1, 2023, OnePlus India uploaded a video on X (formerly known as Twitter). The video contains the company’s iconic red-colored charging cable, along with a red OnePlus 5T and onePlus 6. Toward the end, the video teaser mentions, “Relive the red rush,” pointing toward a red-colored smartphone, which is most likely to be the OnePlus 11R at this point. The video also redirects to an Amazon microsite that says “R3.18.512, Coming Soon” over a bright red background.

It is not uncommon for smartphone brands to relaunch models in new colors. Apple is famous for dropping an additional shade of their iPhone series a few months after the main launch. The idea is to keep up the hype around the device and attract new customers. Following a similar path, OnePlus could soon reveal a red variant of the OnePlus 11R in India. For those catching up, the smartphone has been available in India in Galactic Silver and Sonic Black colors.

We expect the device to be available during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale. However, it is important to mention that OnePlus hasn’t confirmed any of these details. Hence, users should take them with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, the OnePlus 11R in red finish should be available at the same price as its siblings, perhaps with a special discount on the regular price of the model.
