OnePlus Expands its Offline Presence in India; Partners with Chroma To Sell its Devices

OnePlus no longer wants to be confined to the online space. Moving forward, it will make a big bigger push to sell its devices in bricks and mortar stores. The firm, after tasting success in the online market, is keen to expand its dominance to the offline market too.

According to OnePlus, soon there are going to be authorised brand stores opened in top eight cities of the country. Other than this, the OnePlus devices are now available in 20 outlets of Croma and the company intends to expand its presence to over 100 outlets soon. As of today, the OnePlus phones are only sold online on Amazon and on company’s own store.

Vikas Agarwal, OnePlus’ general manager for India, said the brand has decided to expand offline presence since the pilot with the Bengaluru experience store showed that conversion rate is better when consumers get to touch-and-feel the products for themselves before buying.

He further said the company is exploring a similar partnership with other large format consumer electronics and cellphone retailers in the country who can provide a good experience to the consumers.

As per the new plan, OnePlus will soon set up authorized brand stores in several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. It is also looking to move its experience stores beyond Bangalore to locations like Delhi and Mumbai.

OenPlus is one of the most sought-after smartphone brand in the premium smartphone segment in India. Their flagship phones like OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T have been instant hits. And, as per the data from market trackers IDC and Counterpoint Research, OnePlus took over Samsung as the second largest brand in the premium segment in the October-December quarter. Now, it is looking to increase its market share in the country by expanding its offline presence.
