OnePlus 7 Pro: What makes it a Pro?

OnePlus has brought new features and flairs to the 7 Pro’s display. The phone oozes a 6.67-inch 3120x1440p curved Fluid AMOLED panel that has 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 516 PPI. The display has been certified A+ by Displaymate. The display also supports HDR10+ and underneath it lies an upgraded in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset is shielded by a sturdy Gorilla Glass 5 on front and rear.

Unlock to undoubtedly one of the best OS in the Android world- Oxygen OS which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The software gains the resources from 7nm based octa-core 2.84GHz Snapdragon 855 chipset with AI engine, Adreno 640 GPU. This is assisted by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 based built-in storage.

The Oxygen OS’s aggressive battery and memory management coupled with 4000mAh battery could keep the device for long hours. Its 30W Warp Charger should be another convenience.

Coming to the cameras, which are the main criteria for most users, OnePlus packs a rear combo of 48MP (f/1.6) primary camera with 8MP 3x Zoom (f/2.4) telephoto sensor and 16MP 117° (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. Upfront, you won’t find a notch or cutout as the 7 Pro’s 16Mp selfie camera sits within a pop-up module. This launches quickly in 0.53 seconds and in case you drop the phone accidentally, the phone’s sensors would swiftly pull back the pop-up into the body automatically.

The imaging prowess is aided by an improved nightscape mode, UltraShot algorithm( HDR+ and Super Resolution). The company claims that DxOMark has given the OnePlus 7 Pro camera 111 score which is highest ever for a OnePlus phone.

Other important features include USB 3.1 Type-C port, Dual nano-SIM, a better X-Axis Haptic Vibration Motor, 5G, Dual-Stereo Dolby Atmos speakers, 10-layer liquid cooling, NFC to name a few.

OnePlus 7: The modest one

OnePlus 7 which is the base variant shares most of the specs and features from its big brother. The differences crop up in following areas- Display, Memory, Cameras, and Battery.
