OnePlus has officially announced a new Red color version of its OnePlus 6. Unlike the OnePlus 6 Slik White variant which comes with a slightly matte finish, the OnePlus 6 Red has a bright and glossy finish with contrasting chrome accent.

Red Edition features an amber-like effect that is touted to be created through expert craftsmanship and material design. It sports a metallic red shimmer coupled with the red, mirror-like fingerprint sensor that contrasts with the silver camera lens accent.

The new OnePlus 6 Red edition boasts off an amber-like effect that is achieved with expert craftsmanship. In the process to achieve this effect, the company said to have used optical coating, evaporative film, and six panels of glass followed by addition of anti-reflective layer. “A translucent orange layer intermixes with the red base layer to achieve a radiant glossy red, unique to OnePlus,” says OnePlus.

“We believe power and attitude can be both elegant and humble, and we have strived to achieve this with the OnePlus 6 Red Edition,” says Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus. “We worked to avoid an overly bright red color while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity. Achieving the amber-like effect took several months to refine and perfect.”

OnePlus 6 Red India Price and Availability

The OnePlus 6 Red edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of on-onboard storage. The phone will retail in India with a price tag of Rs 39,999. It will go on sale in India starting July 16 on and OnePlus store.

In terms of specs, the OnePlus 6 Red houses the same innards as the OnePlus 6 Midnight and Mirror black edition. It flaunts a 6.28-inch FullHD+ screen with a notch and an aspect ratio of 19:9.  Optics wise, the OnePlus 6 features a dual-rear camera set up with 16-megapixel (Sony IMX519 sensor) paired with a 20-megapixel (Sony IM376K sensor). The rear camera is also assisted by OIS, and EIS. Up front, the OnePlus 6 flaunts a 16-megapixel selfie camera (Sony IMX371 sensor) with f/2.0 aperture and EIS for videos.

The OnePlus 6 is rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked up to 2.8GHz, coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone supports dual SIM dual VoLTE and runs OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.The phone aided by a 3300 mAh battery which comes with Dash charging support.
