Nokia introduces first WiFi 6E Gateway named ‘Beacon 10’ during MWC 2023

Nokia has unveiled Beacon 10, their first gateway for WiFi 6E to provide secure, high-capacity mesh networking. The Beacon 10 was shown off during the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2023 alongside Nokia’s B2B innovation.

Nokia Beacon 10: Features

It is a tri-band device that is capable of 10Gbps WiFi throughput and has a 10G WAN interface to pair with 10Gb/second fiber modems for multi-gigabit services to the home.

It creates a seamless WiFi 6E network throughout one’s home as the tri-band leverages the 2.4, 5, and 6GHz bands. High-speed connectivity is provided in the home with up to 2.5Gbps LAN port and a WiFi capacity of AX10200. The coverage can be extended with up to 5 Beacon 10 units and the Gateway is a simple, app-based setup that is easy to manage.

Nokia WiFi Mobile App

The mobile app is equipped with a number of useful features like analytics and parental control. The network is simple to create and manage. The app also provides customers with step-by-step instructions on how to install or expand the WiFi network.

10G Fiber & WiFi 6E

10G fiber has rolled out which needs upgrades to the home and business WiFi to support speedier devices. WiFi 6E with faster speeds and lower latencies is ideal for applications like home entertainment and home working.

The brand has also upgraded its WiFi Cloud Controller to act as a User Services Platform (USP) controller. It is based on the open-source OB-USPA and can be managed by any USP controller, including the Nokia WiFi Cloud Control.
