Nokia G60 makes a debut in India at a price of 29,999

Without much fanfare, Nokia has launched a new smartphone, Nokia G60 5G, in the Indian market. The handset comes with 5G connectivity support and is based on the Android 12 operating system. As claimed by Nokia, it will offer three years of software updates with the device, which is pretty captivating considering what other companies are offering.

The Nokia G60 5G also supports eSIM technology along with a dual SIM setup. The device is available in India for pre-booking via the official website of Nokia between November 1 to November 7, 2022. Nokia has also introduced an early bird offer in which customers can get Nokia Wired Buds worth Rs 3,599 for free alongside the smartphone. The smartphone has a sole 6GB RAM variant option priced at Rs 29,999. The handset is being shipped in two colours – Black and Ice.

Nokia G60 specifications and features

The Nokia G60 features a 6.5-inch display complemented with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The display of the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has 400 nits for peak brightness. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage capacity.

In terms of optics, the Nokia G60 rocks a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary snapper, 5MP ultra wide-angle snapper, and a 2MP depth snapper. The complete rear camera system is placed inside a pill-shaped camera island. The smartphone draws power from a 4500mAh battery that also supports 20W fast charging.

What’s the competition?

Coming to the main point, Nokia’s latest device is not something that can attract a lot of customers. The old-school waterdrop notch style display and a thick chin are something that no one wants after spending around Rs 30,000 on a smartphone. The most disappointing thing about the device is that it comes with Snapdragon 695 chipset, which makes it look like a highly overpriced device, as the same chipset can be found in iQOO Z6 5G. The device will not stand a single chance against Nothing Phone 1, Realme GT Neo 3T, etc.
