Nexus 7 Gets Lollipop 5.1.1 Update

0

Android’s latest version Lollipop was born with a build version 5.0 and had got its first update to version 5.1 earlier this year. While 10% of the smartphone users all over the world have already tasted the Lollipop, the new build is still on the roll and more devices are joining the club Lollipop with every passing day. As we watch the network growing, the creator of Android seems no less enthusiastic about giving the entry to its own flagship series, Nexus, into the rally. Earlier, Google had updated Nexus 7 and Nexus 9 with the build version 5.0 of Lollipop.

Having posted Lollipop 5.1 update to the latest flagship device, Nexus 10, Google seems to stop no sooner with the spree of getting more of its Nexus devices to join the 5.1 club. Nexus 7 is reportedly getting the Android Lollipop 5.1 firmware upgrade now. Lollipop 5.1 update went available OTA (on the air) last week for Nexus 10. The same update has now gone OTA for Nexus 7 2102 Wi-Fi edition too. The firmware upgrade 5.1.1 doesn’t really have much to offer and has almost all the features consistently carried over from the 5.1 firmware build.

The update started rolling out OTA since this Wednesday and is just 9.6 MB in size. It brings along no major changes to the smartphone functionality but just a few bug fixes and a little stability in the smartphone’s performance.
