A decade-long suspense could end soon as Rockstar Games will drop a trailer for the “next Grand Theft Auto” title. Of course, we are talking about GTA VI. The developers took to their official X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce a key development related to the upcoming GTA game. First, they mentioned how December 2023 marks their 25th anniversary, reminding us that Rockstar Games came into existence in 1998.

First GTA VI Trailer Dropping Next Month

GTA 6 announcement and release date

The studio then announced that it will release the first trailer for GTA VI in early December. The thread has gathered more than 24 million views in nearly 90 minutes, which reflects the hype around the upcoming open-world video game. Over the years, several fans have shared their version of GTA VI’s first trailer, getting millions of views.

Responding to Rockstar Games’ announcement, X users taunt the studio, asking them that it is too early after GTA V, a game launched in 2013. Even though it has been 10 years since the video game came out, the hype around its successor is unreal. There have been multiple leaks and reports suggesting that Rockstar is nearing the end of development and could release the title soon.

Last year, fans got a glimpse of the upcoming GTA game when footage from the gameplay went viral on the internet. This was in September 2022, roughly seven months after Rockstar Games confirmed they were working on the next Grand Theft Auto title. The footage was unfinished, but it still was one of the biggest leaks of the game. Nonetheless, the studio is ready to reveal the first trailer in a month.

GTA VI First Trailer Expected Date

Although Rockstar Games hasn’t announced a date for GTA VI’s first trailer, there’s a good chance that it could drop on December 7, 2023, during the Game Awards. Another notable detail is that the studio doesn’t refer to the game as GTA VI. Instead, it refers to it as the “next Grand Theft Auto,” indicating that there could be a surprise there.
