Xiaomi Mi 7 and Redmi S2 earlier rumors of probable launch in the month of May could turn out to be true. Today, the company has put out a teaser post for an upcoming smartphone with letter “S” on their Weibo account, fueling speculations of Redmi S2 launch later in the month. It is also worth mentioning here that recently Xiaomi also put out a teaser suggesting Mi 7 could launch on May 23.
The Redmi S2 has been already made several rounds in speculation stream and if they turn out to be true the smartphone will be a budget phone. The Redmi S2 is said to ship with 5.99-inch 18:9 HD+ screen.

The S2 phone will be driven by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 mobile platform which is mated to Adreno 506 GPU. Like always, Xiaomi is expected to offer the Redmi S2 in three RAM and Storage options that include a 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 4GB RAM with 32GB Storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. Similar to the Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro, it is also expected to feature a fingerprint sensor at the back.
In optics, the Redmi S2 is said to feature a dual camera setup of 12MP + 8MP sensors at the rear and a 16MP selfie shooter. In all probability, the phone will come out running on MIUI 9 interface likely to be based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Redmi S2 could feature a 3,000mAh battery inside. Other than this, not many details are available at present.The phone is expected to come in black, gold, grey, pink, red, rose gold, silver, and white color hues.
