Xiaomi is expected to officially present its next big ticket flagship, the Mi 9, very soon. But before that happens, a new live-image has surfaced spotting a Triple Camera setup and In-Display Fingerprint Sensor. Without much ado, let’s roll into the details.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Features

In his official Weibo post, Mr. Wang Teng Thomas, Product Manager at Xiaomi shared an image of a Xiaomi exec holding a mysterious smartphone. Although the original post made by Thomas was removed, a tipster shared the same on SlashLeaks. The obscure image manages to give us a glimpse of the purported Mi 9.

From the image, we could see the device’s rear camera panel which evidently has space for three cameras. Right below the camera island, there is an LED flash. If we go with the previous leaks, we speculate a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor paired with a 12-megapixel secondary sensor and a 3D ToF sensor.

The front display could house a 24-megapixel Sony IMX576 sensor. Speaking of display, it could be a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a waterdrop notch. Xiaomi could continue the lines of aptly named Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint edition with an In-Display biometric solution.

The rumor mill indicates a 128GB storage variant of Mi 9. We could expect the device to run on Android 9.0 Pie with the latest MIUI skin and its features. Moving further, it is likely to be fueled by a 3,500mAh battery with a 27W fast refueling support.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pricing (Expected)

Xiaomi could launch the device this month in its homeland at a rumored price of around CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 30,400). Hopefully we’ll know more about its global rollout at MWC 2019.
