The rumor comes from a prominent and reliable source, Roland Quadnt. The tipster on the micro-blogging website, Twitter, posted that HMD Global is working on a new Nokia phone with Snapdragon 710 chipset and might launch it in the autumn or by winter 2018. He further claimed that Google is also working on a new smartphone with the same chipset.

He also revealed the codenames of both devices in the same tweet. While the Nokia phone is codenamed as “Phoenix”, the new Google phone is known as “Bonito” as of now. The phones’ specifications are as mysterious to us as their names.

A mid-range Google Pixel Phone

The reported Google phone, codenamed as Bonito, could be the mid-range Pixel phone the search-engine giant is expected to launch in India and other price-sensitive markets.

In April, it was reported that Google is planning to unveil a mid-range smartphone later this year (most-probably in October). The phone will target buyers looking for a high-end phone at a mid-range price.
