MSI Claw Portable Gaming PC Launched With Intel Core Ultra Processors And Up To 1TB Of Storage

The Taiwan-based consumer electronics company MSI launched its first handheld gaming device, the MSI Claw. The company first revealed the device at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024. Even though the device is compact, the manufacturer has packed it with impressive specifications, such as Intel Core Ultra processors, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD for storing games locally.

To begin with, the MSI Claw features a seven-inch FHD+ touchscreen that achieves up to 500 nits of peak brightness and 120Hz of refresh rate. Under the hood, the handheld gaming console features either the Intel Core Ultra 5-135H or the Core Ultra 7-155H processors. While both are paired with 16GB of RAM, the former is available with 512GB of onboard storage, while the latter is available in both 512GB and 1TB storage variants. The device features Intel’s Arc GPU to handle graphics.

For an immersive gaming experience, the device comes with dual 2W speakers (with Hi-Res Audio certification), triggers, bumpers, HD haptics, a D-pad, and RGB ABXY buttons. Connectivity options on the portable gaming PC include Wi-Fi 7 for ultra-fast streaming, Bluetooth v5.4, Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Regarding battery life, the company claims that MSI Claw’s six-ell 53WHr battery can last about 50 percent more than the industry average and supports 65W PD 3.0 charging.

For longer gaming sessions, the device is also equipped with Cooler boost HyperFlow technology that redirects airflow to the internal components to keep them cool.

MSI Claw’s base variant with Intel Core Ultra 5 chip (512GB storage) costs $699 in the United States, which is about Rs. 58,000. The variant with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor (512GB storage) is priced at $749, which is about Rs. 62,000. Last but not least, the variant with a Core Ultra 7 processor (1TB storage) is available for $799, which is about Rs. 66,000. MSI has yet to launch the product in India.
