Motorola TV by Flipkart Launched; Could eat into Xiaomi’s market share

Over the years, Motorola has been a popular name associated with mobiles and other telecom industry related products. The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand has now ventured into Smart TVs segment by launching its first-ever Android TV range.

Motorola TVs are offered in multiple screen sizes ranging from 32 inches to 65 inches and with HD, Full HD, and UHD resolutions. These TVs have been developed under Moto and Flipkart brand licensing agreement. Flipkart has not only packed them with a rich feature set but has also kept the pricing really aggressive. With Big Billion sale round the corner, these Motorola TVs could certainly eat some of the Xioami’s market.

43-inch Motorola TV FHD: ₹24,999

43-inch Motorola TV UHD: ₹29,999

65-inch Motorola TV UHD: ₹64,999

The entire Motorola TV lineup will be available on Flipkart with the start of big billion-day sale starting September 29.

Motorola TV Features

All new Motorola TVs announced on September 16 use IPS panel and some of them even have support for HDR 10 and Dolby Vision standards. Flipkart claims that the Motorola TVs will have 178-degree of viewing angles.

During the launch presentation, Flipkart mentioned that these TVs delivers 1.07 billion colours and benefit from autotune X display technology. Flipkart also put in a lot of stress on MEMC technology.

What is MEMC in TV?

MEMC is a technique that cuts out any latency between frames to ensure seamless fluid, frame-to-frame motion.

The Motorola smart TVs are powered by MediaTek processors coupled with Mali 450 GPU. The entire range runs on Google’s Android TV 9.0 with Google Assistant, Google Play Store, and built-in Chromecast support.

Moto has equipped TV with 30W front-firing speakers with DTS Tru Surround, Dolby Audio and more. The entire Smart TVs range includes 16GB of internal storage and 2.5GB of RAM.

Interestingly, Motorola is shipping these TVs with Bluetooth-enabled joystick gamepad bundle.
