iQOO has launched the next in its Neo series with the iQOO Neo 6 smartphone going official in India yesterday. This is the latest in the affordable flagship range by the company that comes with impressive specs and aggressive pricing. Meanwhile, Motorola launched Moto Edge 30 earlier last month. Moto Edge 30 is also an affordable device, and it is the only one in the segment to come with a 144Hz refresh rate and the sleekest body you can find.

Both these devices are in direct competition with each other because their prices are almost similar and their specs overlap each other. Let us compare these two affordable offerings to let you decide, which one is more suitable for you.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: Design

The Motorola Edge 30 has a back made of acrylic glass. It comes with a 6.5-inch display and the same punch hole cutout in the center. It has a slim and light body with a boxy design and Motorola branding and logo at the back. There is a triple camera setup with an LED flash inside an oval-shaped camera module at the rear end. The right edge has a power button and volume rockers whereas the bottom has a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray. The Edge 30 is IP52 rated for being water repellant. The Moto Edge 30 weighs 155 grams and is 6.79mm thick. The smartphone comes in Meteor Grey and Aurora Green colors.

On the other hand, iQOO Neo 6 is made of plastic. IQOO Neo 6 sports a 6.62-inch display with a punch hole cut out in the center. The phone has a curved back, rounded edges, and a smooth finish for better grip. It has a triple camera setup at the back with LED Flash inside a square module. There is the volume rocker and power button on the right side whereas the bottom has a speaker grille, SIM slot, and a USB Type-C port. It doesn’t have any ingress protection. The smartphone weighs 190 grams and is 9mm thick. It comes in Dark Nova and Cyber Rage color options.

Result- Moto Edge 30 seems to have a slight edge in terms of design.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: Display

The Moto Edge 30 has a 6.5-inch 10-bit Poled display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a hole punch cutout. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has an in-screen fingerprint reader. It supports HDR10+ playback.

iQOO Neo 6 sports a 6.62-inch e4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a hole punch cutout. It also supports HDR10+ playback but doesn’t boast any kind of screen protection. It has an in-screen fingerprint reader as well.

Result- Both seem to be at par because one has an AMOLED panel, while the other has a 144Hz refresh rate.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: Battery & Camera

The Motorola Edge 30 as well as iQOO Neo 6, both have a triple camera setup on their back. While the Edge 30’s camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The iQOO Neo 6 has a 64MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. In terms of selfie lens, Moto Edge 30 has a 32MP snapper whereas the iQOO Neo 6 has a 16MP selfie lens.

Coming to battery life, Motorola Edge 30 falls short as it has a 4020mAh battery in comparison to iQOO Neo 6’s 4700mAh battery. There is a vast difference in fast charging speeds as well because iQOO Neo 6 supports 80W fast charging whereas Moto Edge 30 supports only 33W fast charging.

Result- In terms of battery, iQOO Neo 6 has an edge over the Moto Edge 30 but in terms of camera, Moto Edge 30 is better.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: RAM/ Memory comparison

Motorola Edge 30 comes in 2 storage configurations- one being 6GB RAM with 128GB storage whereas the other being 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

On the other hand, iQOO Neo 6 also comes in 2 storage configurations but they are a combination of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Result- iQOO Neo 6 is the clear winner here as it offers more RAM and storage.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: Performance (SoC and OS)

The Motorola Edge 30 is powered by Snapdragon 778G chipset whereas the iQOO Neo is powered by Snapdragon 870. In terms of software, Edge 30 runs Android 12 with Motorola’s My UX custom UI, and iQOO Neo 6 runs Android 12 based FunTouch OS 12.

Both run Android 12 with their own custom skins on top and have been promised 2 years of Android and 3 years of security updates.

Result- While OS is more or less the same for both, in terms of chipset, iQOO Neo 6 is better than Motorola Edge 30.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6: Connectivity

Motorola Edge 30 and iQOO Neo 6 both come with a plethora of connectivity options. Both have 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC support. There is a difference between Wi-Fi connectivity as Moto Edge 30 has WiFi 6E support but IQOO Neo 6 has WiFi 802.11 support.

Result- Both are at par as connectivity options are the same.

Motorola Edge 30 Vs iQOO Neo 6 Verdict: Which one should you buy?

Both Moto Edge 30 (review) and iQOO Neo 6 offer good specs at an aggressive price point for the Indian market. iQOO Neo 6 offers more RAM and storage, a faster processor, and a heavier battery with quicker fast charging but its price is slightly higher than the Moto Edge 30. Moto Edge 30 has a better design and better camera specs at a slightly lower price.

So, if you want a gaming smartphone or a high-performance smartphone, you might go for iQOO Neo 6 but if you need a good camera setup, Wishlist Moto Edge 30 at once.
