Micromax has unveiled its latest offering an the successor to its Mega 2 smartphone, called Canvas Mega 2 Plus, in India that shall serve as a low cost ‘Big Phone’ alternative. This is an entry-level handset that includes 4G VoLTE connectivity, and also has a Jio SIM card bundled in the box.
This handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs in a 3000 mAh power unit to keep. The dual-SIM Mega 2 Plus features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, although other details are still a subject of speculation.

It sports a 6-inch IPS screen with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. As mentioned, Android Marshmallow is the OS and there’s a 2GB DDR3 RAM to support the phone with a built-in storage space of 16GB.
Coming to the optics, the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has an 8MP camera on the back (with flash) and on the front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter (with a fixed focus).

The connectivity options that the phone comes with are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Along with that, there are 3 sensors – light, accelerometer, and proximity.
As of yet, the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has only reached the offline stores with no word on online availability. The phone has been priced at Rs. 7,499 and for what it’s worth, the specifications are indeed a little off-putting.
