If you have been following EV news for some time, you would know that Tata Motors is already working on its new Tata Nexon 2023 based on the Avinya platform. Well, Mahindra is not lagging as it just released a teaser video showcasing not one but five concepts for born electric vehicles (EVs) that it will showcase soon.

Mahindra to showcase five EVs on August 15

According to the reports, Mumbai-based car juggernaut Mahindra has showcased not one but five electric vehicles (EVs) that it will showcase at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) studio in Oxfordshire, UK. Under the leadership of chief designer Pratap Bose, the carmaker has announced five born EVs that will be shown at the event. When we say born, it means that Mahindra has developed these models on a dedicated electric vehicle platform from the ground up.

There are five models to tease and you can already see all the upcoming EV models in their teaser although it is just a silhouette of the models. From what we can make of the teaser, four models appear to have coupe-like features while one of the EVs is expected to be based on the XUV700. Interestingly, it is likely to be named XUV400 (EV) although take this information with a pinch of salt at the moment. The designs are much better-looking compared to how the BMW X4s and X6s look, which is amazing.

Mahindra-EV-concept

Mahindra has already shared a previous teaser showcasing three of the five EV models to have signature DRLs. Circling back to the showcase, these are prototype concepts and not production-ready models. It means Mahindra would still take some time to enter production although it is competing against the likes of Tata Motors so we don’t think that would take much time.
