LG Q7 2018 Family Announced With IP68 Water Resistance: Features, Specs, and More

South Korean consumer durable brand LG has silently announced its 2018 LG Q7 family of smartphones back home. The successor to the last year’s Q6 gets specification bump, and a couple of flagship grade features which should help it seal a place in the highly competitive mid-budget segment. (हिंदी में पढ़े)

As per LG, the Q7 2018 will become available in key markets like in Europe early July and after that, it will be introduced in markets like the American continent and countries like India and China in Asia.

LG Q7 Features

The LG Q7 family includes – the Q7, Q7+, and Q7α, the only difference between them is memory and camera configuration. The Q7 2018 flaunts a 5.5-inch FullVision display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The LG Q7 series boasts of a glass back with 2.5D Arc Glass design and rounded edges. LG claims its new Q7 family is IP68 water and dust resistant and support MIL-STD810G standard testing.

The phone comes with 1.5GHz or 1.8GHz octa-core processors. The LG Q7 and Q7α ships with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage whereas the Q7+ comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. LG is offering support for microSD card up to 2TB across variants.

On the optics front, the LG Q7 and Q7α feature a 13-megapixel rear camera while the Q7+ gets a slight better 16-megapixel sensor. Selfie camera remains the same on all three – a 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie shooter. However, LG has said that it will be offering an upgraded 8-megapixel selfie camera in Q7 and Q7+ for select markets. The Q7 family also gets the in-trend Portrait Mode feature.

Like its recently launched flagship – the G7 ThinQ, the Q7 series camera also comes with AI integration and QLens feature for image recognition. LG is keeping audiophiles in mind and is offering DTS:X, Hi-Fi, Quad DAC in the Q7 series for a richer audio experience.

The 2018 LG Q7 runs Android 8.0 Oreo and it is aided by a 3,000mAh battery. The phone support 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and use USB Type-C port for charging. The Q7 will be available in either black blue or violet color variants.
