Lenovo today unveiled its big battery P-series phone, P2, in India. The 5100mAh battery takes the center stage with P2 and, according to company claims, you won’t have to scamper for a charging point for up to 3 days.

The company will be bringing two different RAM variants to India. The 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant will cost 17,999 INR, and the 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage variant will cost 16,999 INR. The sales start today at midnight on Flipkart.

The handset flaunts a curved rear metal back, has a 2.5D curved glass on the front and also has a dedicated slider to jump into a power saver mode – something you shouldn’t be doing very often.

The Lenovo P2 is the first Lenovo phone to use a Super AMOLED display (Full HD). Since these displays have individually powered pixels, you can get practically infinite contrast (since pixels are turned off to portray blacks) and these are also more slightly more energy efficient than IPS LCD panels which use a bright backlight.

The chipset used is 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625, which is an upgrade over Snapdragon 617. Interestingly, the chipset is based on power efficient 14nm LPP process which isn’t very common for mid-range SoCs. The chipset is further paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 32GB of expandable storage. On the software front, Lenovo continues with its Pure UI and the OS running on P2 is based on Android Marshmallow.

The handset includes a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. Other notable features include Theatermax support, 4G VoLTE, dual SIM support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front.
