TL; DR
  • The iPhone 17 Air packs a 3,036 mAh battery, or 3,149 mAh on the eSIM-only model.
  • The iPhone 17 Pro Max finally crosses 5,000 mAh with its eSIM version.
  • eSIM-only models gain up to 9% extra capacity by dropping the SIM tray.

A last-minute leak has revealed the full battery capacities for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, ahead of the official launch. The information surfaced through Chinese regulatory filings and was shared online by ShrimpApplePro.

The biggest highlight is the iPhone 17 Air, Apple’s ultra-slim model, which manages to fit a 3,036 mAh battery in its SIM version and a slightly larger 3,149 mAh unit in the eSIM-only version. This puts to rest earlier rumors of a sub-3,000 mAh battery, showing Apple has managed to balance thin design with usable endurance.

The biggest upgrade arrives with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which now carries 4,823 mAh on the SIM version and an impressive 5,088 mAh on eSIM.
