The CEO of Iqoo India, Nipun Marya, announced via his official X account that the upcoming iQoo 12 will be the first smartphone based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India. Captioning the teaser image, Marya writes, “#iQoo 12 + #Snapdragon8Gen3 = The ultimate performance duo.” This gives iQOO an edge in the Indian flagship market, as it will ship the first phone powered by the fastest Android chipset.

iQoo 12 Series Has An Official Launch Date In China

It is important to mention that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has already announced the iQOO 12’s launch date in its native market, where the iQoo 12 and the iQoo 12 Pro arrive on November 7, 2023. The company confirmed this via its official Weibo account. However, there’s no word on the Indian launch date of the phone yet. Nonetheless, given that iQoo’s flagship Android phones are successful in the subcontinent, there’s a good chance that the phone will debut soon in India.

iQoo 12 to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

For the uninitiated, Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with a maximum clock speed of 3.3GHz and support for Wi-Fi 7, the fastest generation of wireless connectivity for smartphones. Later this year, other companies should also release their smartphones based on the latest Snapdragon platform. Next year, we expect the Galaxy S24 Ultra also to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

iQoo 12 Leaked Specifications

The iQoo 12 series will feature Samsung’s E7 AMOLED screens with 2K resolution and support up to 144Hz refresh rate. Further, the phones will offer up to 24GB of RAM and a whopping terabyte of storage. On the rear panel, the phones will feature a triple camera setup, headlined by a 50MP OmniVision OV50H sensor. While the regular iQoo 12 could come with a 4,880 mAh battery (support for 120W fast wired charging), the iQoo 12 Pro is rumored to feature a 4,980 mAh battery (up to 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging).
