iQOO has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming iQOO 12 in India, scheduled for December 12th. The exclusive availability on Amazon has been confirmed through a dedicated microsite. While enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling, the iQOO India division has been steadily revealing intriguing details about the device. The most recent teaser highlights a significant feature – the iQOO 12 will proudly claim the title of India’s first smartphone to be equipped with the formidable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Scheduled for a December 12th debut in India, the iQOO 12 is set to make a splash in the smartphone arena. A glimpse into its prowess comes from a teaser image, affirming the incorporation of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, harmonized with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Beyond the Qualcomm powerhouse, iQOO’s flagship will introduce the SuperComputing Q1 chip, an in-house development by Vivo.

This chip is strategically engineered to enhance gaming experiences, promising optimized performance and smoother gameplay, especially notable at the impressive 144Hz refresh rate. While these revelations shed light on the core specifications, finer details such as battery capacity, fast charging capabilities, and camera configurations are slated to be disclosed as the launch date approaches.

Fueling the iQOO 12 flagship is the formidable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, harmonized with an Adreno GPU. Elevating the gaming prowess is the inclusion of a dedicated Q1 chip, promising an immersive gaming experience with heightened frame rates, a claim substantiated by the brand.

Shifting focus to the camera capabilities, the iQOO 12 presents an impressive array, housing a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main camera equipped with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera boasting 3x zoom and an extraordinary 100x digital zoom. On the front, a 16MP snapper is ready to capture impeccable selfies and facilitate seamless video chats.

The visual experience is further enriched by a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display featuring a stellar 144Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM Dimming, a discreet punch-hole cutout housing the selfie shooter, and an impressive peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Running on Android 14 with the customized OriginOS 4.0 skin, the iQOO 12 ensures a sleek and tailored user interface. Powering the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery, complemented by an impressive 120W fast charging support.

In terms of memory and storage, the chipset is expected to be coupled with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, with the specific variants for the Indian market yet to be disclosed.

The iQOO 12 is loaded with additional features, including an in-screen fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio, and aptX HD, collectively delivering a premium and immersive user experience.
