1

Ever since Apple launched new iPhones – the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in the US, iPhone lovers here in India have been patiently waiting for its arrival. Nonetheless, for their delight Apple has kept the waiting period short this time. Before they lay hands on this premium handset, they will have to burn deep holes in their pockets, as in India, iPhone 6s and 6S plus are the priciest.

Apple is already rolling out carpets for iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus launch, prioritizing Indian market for the second phase roll-out. On the launch day, the 16GB variant of iPhone 6S will cost 62,000 INR which when converted to dollars comes around $955. The same model in Apple’s homeland is available for just $649.99 (unlocked version), while it is selling for AU$1,310 and £620 in Australia and England respectively. Doing the math, Indians will have to pay $306 more in comparison to Americans, AU$231 more than Aussies and £80 more than any resident in England, if they want to flaunt this fancy gadget close to the launch date.
The 128GB variant of 6S Plus in India is available for pre-booking on e-commerce websites like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Infibeam, Paytm and others for a whopping Rs. 92,000 which is $466 more than what a citizen of New York or Washington would have to pay for the same experience. Down under, the iPhone 6S Plus is priced at AU$1,490, which is Staggering U$460 or 30360 INR approx. less than Indian pricing.
Despite the skyrocketing pricing in India, Apple is expected to draw a big chunk of its iPhone revenue from the country. Apple is also keeping no stone unturned to make this year iPhones launch in India successful.
This time, Apple has dramatically increased both, it’s offline and online retailer partners, to efficiently unload truckloads of iPhones on day 1. In fact, the top variant of iPhone 6S Plus (128GB) is already sold out on Flipkart even before its official launch in India.

Apart from Apple’s own stores, it has tied up with offline retailer like The Mobile Store, Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance, and has roped in Infibeam, Snapdeal Amazon, Flipkart, and Paytm to drive its online sales.
Well, as Tim Cook once said, the market for premium gadgets is as big as the one for budget devices. Apple is all set to rule the roost in this top end segments. Once again, people will obediently wait for their turn to dole out bundles of cash to own and flash the most desirable of all smartphones.
